Couples
Most couples sessions feel like a performance. You drive somewhere pretty, stand close together, and smile until the photographer says you're done. That's not this. Couples sessions with Q. Oliver happen inside your actual life — your apartment, your neighborhood, the places that belong to you. The goal isn't a good photo of how you look together. It's an honest photo of who you actually are together. Shot on medium format film. Delivered as prints worth hanging on your wall for the next thirty years.

Unposed. Unhurried. Shot on film inside the life you've actually built.
FAQ:
-
A: Absolutely not. Your session is whatever you want it to be. Some couples want to be photographed making breakfast in their pajamas. Some want skin-to-skin intimacy in their bedroom. Most land somewhere in between. We talk about it beforehand so I understand what feels right for you.
-
A: It is more than okay—it is the point. I photograph your life as it is, not as a styled set. The laundry basket, the stacked dishes, the cat on the counter—those are the details that make your photos yours. Some of my most powerful images were made in the most lived-in spaces.
-
A: Yes. I photograph weddings on film and digital, from elopements to full-day celebrations. Many of my couples start with a documentary session and then book me for their wedding. It is the best way to get comfortable with each other before the big day.
-
A: Not at all. Most of my couples are not engaged. Some are dating. Some have been married for twenty years. Some just moved in together. This is about documenting who you are right now—no milestone required.
-
A: Couples sessions are typically 1.5–2 hours. Wedding coverage ranges from 3–4 hours for an elopement to 10+ hours for a full day. Enough time for you to forget I am there.
-
A: Yes, enthusiastically. I photograph love in every form it takes. If you see yourself in my work, you belong here.
